At Lago Skiathos, we believe in the power of curiosity, creativity, and connection. Nestled on the island of Skiathos, our residency offers adventurous creatives a space to slow down, explore, and create with intention.
Our philosophy is inspired by ο λαγός ● o lagos ● the hare—a symbol of agility, curiosity, and bold movement—we embrace a life of thoughtful exploration, where creativity thrives in the balance between stillness and momentum.
We welcome artists of all disciplines who are eager to engage with nature, community, and their own evolving practices. WHAT TO EXPECT
The residency includes shared accommodations, group meals, and local excursions (depending on the time of year which include: hiking, fishing, swimming, sailing, island hopping, & more) all designed to inspire creative flow and meaningful connection.

WHO WE WELCOME
We invite adventurous individuals of ALL disciplines—visual artists, makers, writers, performers, filmmakers, designers, chefs, tattoo artists, permaculturists, thinkers and beyond—at any stage of their creative career. We are open to collaborative teams, creative duos, and groups working on shared projects. Whether you’re creating individually or together, our residency offers the space and freedom to explore ideas in a supportive environment.
EXPECTATIONS & OBJECTIVES
Residents will present a Capsule Project—a piece or collection that captures their experience—at our Final Group Exhibition, hosted in partnership with the Municipality of Skiathos. This project doesn’t need to be a completed body of work but should represent your creative journey during the residency.
Note: Additional details about participation and project contributions will be shared upon acceptance.
ABOUT THE VILLA
Nestled on an acre in the main town, our 1930s Greek villa offers quiet gardens and courtyards, shared accomodations, main saloni, secondary traditional stone saloni, small atelier, and a shared kitchen. During your time with us, you are welcome to use our property as you wish to work on your project and we are happy to accommodate your artistic needs the best we can!
ABOUT SKIATHOS
Named after the plentiful shade given by the island's abundant pine forest, Skiathos is situated in the stunning crystal clear waters of the North Aegean. Skiathos has a rich history dating back to ancient times. The island experienced Byzantine, Venetian, and Ottoman rule, each leaving its mark on the culture and architecture. Today, it is renowned for its stunning beaches, lush landscapes, and vibrant cultural heritage, attracting visitors from around the world.
